Dr. Md. Ashek Mahmud Ferdaus, a renowned advanced laparoscopic& LASER colorectal surgeon, was born on 1st December 1981 in Pashchim Chandimandap village of Muktagacha, Mymensingh. He passed SSC from Madhupur Shaheed Smriti Higher Secondary School in 1997, and HSC from Dhaka Notre Dame College in 1999. Later onhe got admission in Sir Salimullah Medical College and migrated to Mymensingh Medical College. He passed  MBBS  in 2005. He joined the government service in 2008 and completed FCPS degree in surgery in 2015 and fellowship of International Society of Coloproctology in 2017. He completed  MS (Masters of Surgery) in Colorectal Surgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2018. He has participated in various conferences on Colorectal Surgery and received specialized training in many countries including India, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. He is a lifetime Member of Bangladesh Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and International Society of Coloproctology (India). Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor (Colorectal Surgery) in Mymensingh Medical College.

 

He has years of experience and expertise in diseases of colon, rectum and anal canal, for example, updated and modern techniques in haemorrhoids, anal fissure, anorectal abscess, anal incontinence, perineal tear, &pilonidal sinus surgery,  challenging and complex cases, specially complex and complicated fistula, colorectal cancer surgery.

Now he is working specially on advanced laparoscopic and LASER colorectal surgery. He has performed more than 200 advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery in last one year. Many of his articles have been published in national and international journals. He is committed to provide the safest, most patient-focused and effective clinical care.
